The statistics were published in the United States, show that more than eight million physician visits - to private offices, clinics, hospitals and others - are due to infections of the urinary tract. The same statistics show that women are more susceptible to infection than men, and is the second most common infection, often in the body.
The urine of a healthy person is sterile, which means that, despite containing various salts and other waste, no bacteria, fungi or viruses are present. A urinary tract infection usually begins when bacteria in the gut can enter the opening of the urethra, where they multiply rapidly. When these bacteria remain in the urethra and ascend the urinary tract, the infection is called urethritis, but when they move into the bladder, the infection then known as cystitis. If left unchecked and untreated, the infection then proceeds upward to the kidneys if you change your name again, and is called pyelonephritis.
Two organizations, Mycoplasma and Chlamydia, are responsible for sexually transmitted infections of the urinary tract of men and women. In the case of infection by any of these microorganisms, men and women should be treated to ensure complete eradication of the infection, so it does not prevent re-infection or both partners.
Most women at risk for urinary tract infections are:
- People with diabetes
- Women with the diaphragm as a means of birth control
- Women whose sex partners condoms with spermicide
- Who was associated with an abnormality of the urinary tract, which has never been corrected Born
The good news for women with urinary tract infections, that a short treatment with antibiotics eliminated no universally prescribed for all classes of antibiotics is usually the problem quickly and efficiently.
